Update Time

Whew! I definitely thought I’d be using this more often in the past year, but look at us now. It’s been a minute since y’all last heard from me and I’ve got lots of news to share.

We are in our last month-ish of living in Louisiana right now. Our orders have come in and we are heading up to Virginia in September for Trey to start his Captain’s course. It’s a 6 month course that starts in October and at the end we will move on to our next duty station. Wherever the Lord leads us is where we will be. We will not know where we are going until probably a good way through the course, so we’re just praying for our next steps right now and that in God’s sovereignty we’d end up in a new home surrounded by community.

The next big thing is that I’m expecting again! Baby number 3 is due at the end of October. It’s going to be an interesting move being that pregnant and having two kiddos plus our pup to move this time, but we’ll make it. We are ecstatic for this new addition and I’m counting down the days until we meet this little man! Yep, you heard that right, we’re having our first boy! Lots of excitement and adventures are in our future I’m sure and I’m stoked. I’m definitely going to be relying on the Lord to guide me as a boy mama because I have very little knowledge of boy things.

Speaking of the Lord’s guidance, that is my prayer everyday. I feel like becoming a mom has opened up my eyes to so much that I don't know. Take toddler discipline for example, no idea what I’m doing, but I’m praying for guidance from the Lord that he would lead me in my discipline so that my children will grow up to know the Lord. It’s a hard place to be because it’s truly my first time doing all this and I’m learning as I go. Such is the life of a parent though I guess.

The girls are doing well and growing up too fast. H is so talkative and smart and has really started taking to becoming my little helper. C is a little adventurer now and is starting to talk more too. Time is just going by so fast. It’s hard to believe we’re coming up on 3 years here and H’s 3rd birthday in a couple months. My mama heart is not ready for her to grow, but I love watching her become exactly who the Lord has made her to be.
